ECHO

Golioth is an IoT Development Platform startup. They needed a mascot to bring joy to their predominantly developer audience. The challenge is that developer documentation can often feel dry, heavy, and without personality. Echo was designed to bring personality and levity to the developer experience.

Golioth reached out to me to help them design their mascot and to create the final illustrations that could be used across a variety of assets, including in their online learning tools, for packaging, and merchandise. Echo had to be cute, friendly, and align with Golioth’s brand identity and icon. They wanted to play with the concept of echolocation, which is why Echo was born.
Combining the form of a bat, and cute characteristics of puppies, I created many iterations of Echo until we landed on the perfect combination of adorable, expressive, and minimalist. From there I was able to illustrate a pack of Echo poses that could be used in many contexts.
The Golioth team were very happy with their unique, and lovable little Echo!
