Modus Games was a new production and publishing video game company for all digital and physical platforms. They wanted to position themselves as the new disruptive newcomer that bucks the trends. Not corporate stiffs - the opposite of EA and Activision.

As the in-house Lead Graphic Designer, I worked with the CEO, EVP of Global Marketing, and Director of Creative Services to create a brand that was: disruptive, premium, credible, reliable, and adaptive.Modus was more like a cool developer, less like a stodgy publisher. Nonconformist, defiant. What Tarantino is to the movie industry. What Banksy is to art. Jon Snow, the Bastard Heroes.
The final solution embraced a sketchy street art style to help position Modus as the opposite of corporate. We did have to adjust the shape of the "O" early on due to unforeseen ownership challenges over the diamond shape. We quickly pivoted and adopted the hexagon, which gave a nice little connection to Maximum Entertainments other subsidiary, Maximum Games, which dons a clean hexagon icon.
